CCRP organizes highly successful programs to promote supplementary education, job training and placement, teen dropout prevention, community health, sports and social services. Skilled at coordinating with other organizations, CCRP has developed into an important voice and community-building organization on multiple fronts.
THE WEISS VOCATIONAL CENTER:
CROWN JEWEL OF CCRP
CCRP’s Weiss Vocational Center has trained and prepared hundreds of teens in the after school hours and adults in the evenings for careers at its Far Rockaway, New York campus. Our program targets low-income individuals with academic and social challenges. This program has received awards and accolades from many elected officials and educators for reducing the number of high school dropouts by providing adolescents with work skills for life. Adults and adolescents are prepared for job readiness training and provided with a sense of self-worth through our many courses.
A NEW LEASE ON LIFE
Many adults, often family breadwinners, face the need for a career change or assistance, whether due to loss of work, desired advancement or a small business owner seeking to grow. CCRP courses and guidance are there to give them the new lease on life they deserve. Offering courses in computers, bookkeeping, business management, new trades or English as a second language, CCRP’s community building initiatives have been the propagator of much success and growth in the socioeconomic scale of the Peninsula.
